Post subject:  Hobie Fox Extreme Concept Boat

I was reading on the Beachcats.com website and the Round Texel website that Mitch Booth and Herbert Dercksen are going to use a Hobie Fox Extreme Concept Boat during the Round Texel race. Does anyone know anything about this extreme concept boat? What are the differences between a production Fox and theirs? I am interested because I am planning on moving up to a 20ft boat next year and it seems that the wave piercing hull concept is finally starting to catch on.

Or has Hobie decided to say goodbye to the Fox? They state that this new concept boat is faster than a Tornado. If so, this is the boat I want!

We have discontinued the Fox in the US.

The concept boat is to learn new technologies on an existing platform. We heard they were building it of carbon.

Thanks to my local reporter on the scene at Texel, (Tony Mels, FX1 Pilot) we have some of the first pics of the carbon Extreme. Too bad the boat didn't make it out through the surf! Didn't get to see what it could do.
