Not to squelch Rich's deal, but this one might be more practical: http://www.thebeachcats.com/classifieds/showproduct.php

It needs some upgrades - one obvious one is a self-tacking jib, but price, condition, and location look pretty nice.

For a 1st time F18, looks like a pretty decent boat.

This past weekend, went back to my old Club for a fun regatta.....
Start line between the end of the dock and a marker about 200 yards out.
Sail upriver, to the other shore, around another marker, back, then do it again.
So sort of downwind, upwind, downwind and upwind legs.
Each leg about 2.5 km or about 1.56 miles.
One F16 Blade, two old H18's, my SX18 and a lonely Wave.
A race based on elapsed time, using Portsmouth handicaps.

The morning race was light wind, and I was first at the mark.
PROBLEM, I went around on my Port, should be Starboard, so that cost me not only about 10 boat lengths, but also a windshift. Blew the next tack, took a wrong line and came in DFL. Argghh. However, on the second leg, we loosened off the outhaul and the change in shape on the main was awesome.

After lunch, on the second race, with more wind, we did really well. On handicap, ended up 3rd, with the F16 Blade first, and a H18 2nd.

The next day, I gave the stick to my son, and we sailed back to our new club, about 6 miles in about 40 minutes one ONE TACK. Wow. Fun to sail together.

Sail shape and tell tales do so much for good performance.
