To clarify Tom's post:

ILYA (Inter Lakes Yachting Asso) has a big regatta for their regular fare on Lake Erie off of Put In Bay Ohio, lots dinghey and skiffs.....that type of thing plus leaners AND they have done a multihull class race that has consisted of just Waves, that the IWCA has participated in for years. One of our crossover guys (HCA/IWCA) Jack Woerhle who is an accomplished Wave sailor posed the question of having an HCA Wave class at this event and was granted approval by the Chair with the exisiting YC rule. So, what we end up with is a very large Wave start, two classes being scored AND basically a death match between the IWCA and the HCA.
I personally am excited about it and am going, as well as Xander Wessels, Dan and Hanna Birkholz, Mimi is 90%, Jim Glanden says he's going, Rico Q says probably and a host of others including and hopefully, the Pensacola posse.
If this works, it will most likely be the largest group of Hobie Waves ever assembled in one place. The regatta is cheap, at on $75 for a 3 day, camping on site, or hotels and B&B very near and its a very unique place with lots of history.
IF you EVER want to race the Wave and have a really large start at a very well established and fun regatta, THIS IS THE ONE.

Keep in mind that Bay Week also has a handicap catamaran class.

They will give trophies for any class that has 5 registered boats, so it would be great to have other Hobies attend as well.
