I've looked thought the other threads and have not found the answer to a question.

Is the Portsmouth Yardstick D-PN of 83.3 for a Getaway for a boat with the wings?

Portsmouth 83.3 ~ PHRF 170

83.3 standard boat D-PN
x 0.981 (for adding trapeze)
x 0.960 (for adding spinnaker)
78.4 modified boat D-PN ~ PHRF 140

If 83.3 does not include the wings, the PY adjustment for added beam is 0.995

78.4
x 0.995 for added beam (wings)
78.0 ~ PHRF 138

Hobie 16 is a PY secondary yardstick boat at 76 with double trap and no spinnaker. D-PN is 76 ~ 126 PHRF

I'm happy to sail at either 138 or 140 ... just want to be able to defend the number. We paced (and beat) a 44 foot mono downwind yesterday ... they rate 53 ... there will be screaming soon ...

BTW ... there is no sail number convention for Getaways that I can find. I used the serial number so 5065 is on the sail.

Cheers,
Randy

If you want to remain friends, have fun rounding the course and don't ask to be scored.
Or, race handicap with their dinghy fleet.
