I'm buying a pair of SitnSail wings for my H16 to make it more "cruising friendly" for the family. Although they easily come off the boat, I was wondering if there is any reason why one couldn't leave them on for racing. Is this against the rules? Are they not "class legal"? Fair Winds, Nick |

They are not class legal for racing. Besides, the extra weight, windage and inability to trapeze would be a significant detriment to your speed. In reality, if you showed up with them at a fleet race - nobody would give you much of a hassle. You show up with them at a real regatta - you'll need to take them off. |

Thanks, Matt! That makes sense. They're designed to come off easily so I guess I'll just use them for family day sailing and take them off when it comes time to race. Appreciate your help! Nick |
