I'm interested in the TF and based on my area winds I wanted to know what the takeoff flying speed would be?

I get a daily afternoon wind from 5-15 knots but the good days generating white caps between 10-20 kts.

When the wind dies its like 3 kts and I wondering if sailing upwind slow to get home is possible or would I need an auxilliary motor for that little wind to go upwind?

I'm in Southern CA and looking for a TF if any are for sale. Distance is no issue as I enjoy an occasional road trip.

Also wondering if there were multiple TF models or just the one size?

One TF was built by Hobie Cat.

Take off wind speed is 10-12 knots. Crew weight is a factor.

You can sail upwind in lighter winds, but very shallow angles and slow.
