Hello,

I'm looking at purchasing either a Wave or a Bravo as a beach boat to be store outdoors year round. I live in Texas where the sun and heat are often brutal. I'm wondering if rotomolded plastic can hold up in these conditions and if there is any way to protect the hulls. I understand that covers are not recommended for either boat as they tend to leave stains on the hulls. Thank you for any advice.

Dave

I just purchased a ten year old getaway that has lived is entire life outside next to a dock with no cover. It has several years of compete neglect, but the sails were stored inside. Other then the graphics fading, about an hour with a brush and soap and it looks good as new! The front tramp is starting to get soft, so that's first on the list to change out. I use a product called 303 that it's a darn good UV blocker. It also gives off a shine. Ten years outside and no one can tell my boat isn't new.

Thanks for the reply! Where is the boat located?

Washington state. Not as much sunny weather Compared to Texas. Use the 303 product and it will look great. I use 303 on everything outside that I want to look good or stay looking good. Also silicone spray works amazing to get a shine back on things. But be careful as it is very slippery.
