I am just wondering if anyone has added the boom option to the Bravo? I just bought a Bravo yesterday (06) and hope to have it out in higher winds. The manual says there is a boom for better sail performance in hi winds |

I had the boom with the Bravo and it really helps with sail shape and that helps with performance. |

I had my Bravo out for the first time this weekend. 5-7mph on Sat and 10-20 on Sunday. From what I can tell, this can really use the boom. The sail changes shape so much with just inches of movement of the sheet, making the performance window of the sail so small. I think there's a lot more to this boat if I can get it. I also noticed that as soon as you get about 45* in the air, flying a hull the boat wants to go to windward. It's not heavy steering like rudder rack, it just turns. I found smaller movement in the rudder help and I sure balancing the boat better for and aft will help as i get her dialed in. It's funny how different it is going from 13 years on a 16 down to this size boat. |

I only had a Bravo for a year before deciding I'd like to not exclude my friends so much and got a Wave. It's a fun little boat though and had I kept it, I'm sure I would have opted for a boom for the same reason's you described. Then again, there is something so nice to pulling up to the beach and just furling up the sail while you sit on the sand. I still do that with the Wave (minus the handy furling) but I always feel like I have to keep an eye on the wind direction. The Bravo was park and forget. |

I bought the new boom, Backyard boats, $450.00 w shipping, I hope to try it out this weekend. I just sold my 11' 16 and we still have 2 other 16's in the family. I'm waiting to see more responses about the T2 before I buy one. |

I do have the boom. it is excellent for speed and keeps the sail flat downwind and clips on and off the mast in 10 seconds. it's a great purchase. |
