Hi folks,

I am working at my old camp this summer. Was a former camper and head of sailing many moons ago, and I am back this summer to find the boats in a mess.

First, let me apologize if this is a stupid question.

Is the mast ball supposed to spin? I remember rigging the Hobie Bravos a few years ago and the mast balls left to spin, but it appears the maintenance team has screwed them down so they do not spin.

Thanks for your input.

They should spin on the Bravo.

Matt, mine does not spin either when the screw in the ball is tightened; perhaps the screw is too short. Can you please tell me the proper screw length so that the screw bottoms out before becoming tight on the ball?

Thank you, Matt. I am also wondering if I have the correct screws. No idea if these are the originals, and the maintenance crew couldn't tell me either.

Thoughts?

If you still have the original screw... You can back it out to allow the ball to spin. The screw has a "long "lock" nylon strip that acts as a locking feature like a loc nut.

8030411 SCREW 12-24X3/4 LONG LOCK PHMS
