Hello all,

Full disclosure, this is a second-hand (yet fully-loved) Bravo.

I was sailing along yesterday and crossed over a wake. There was a squeaking sound from the front support of the a-frame. Upon closer inspection, I could see that it was shifting up and down about a quarter-inch. Is this normal?

Thanks

No, that's not normal. Take it apart and find the worn parts or fasteners. Use thread locker on the bolts otherwise they will loosen up quickly with use.

Thanks!

I took the front support apart as much as I could (loctite red can be awful stuff) and found that the plastic base has a groove instead of a hole for the screw to go through.

New part ordered (Thanks West Coast Sailing!) and I'll be back on the water next week. :D

Blue Loctite is sufficient, not sure why someone would use red unless that's all they had on hand or didn't know the difference. A bit of heat will remedy that right quick unless it's too close to the plastic hulls.
