I was out sailing in 4-8 kt wind last weekend and racing with a friend. In the light winds, their dolphin was doing a great job keeping up. Obviously, I was having none of that.

During one race, it struck me, I could force the boat on one hull by pulling it over on the leeward side. The hypothesis was that it would lower the drag and give a boost. Well, I'll be darned, but it worked! Or, at least I think it worked. I was having so much fun sailing the boat in this crazy manner that I FELT like I was zipping along.

Has anyone else given this a shot? I'd love to hear opinions on this unorthodox way of sailing.

That's the "wild thing" to Tornado sailors.

Fun, wet, and good practice for recovery!
