Heya,

Does anyone car-top their Bravo? Do you take the mast apart? I have a Nissan Murano (15.5 ft long), would it be practical to cartop it with the mast (19') together and in the sail bag?

Any recommendations on straps, or pads between the boat and roof-rack? I may have to get an aftermarket cross-beam set for the rack, I think the weight limit on the stock cross-beams is a measly 100lbs - anyone know where I should go for this?

Thanks for any and all responses!

You'll definately want to look at having aftermarket roof racks installed such as Yakima or Thule. Go with the 78" bars so you have plenty of room to tie the mast on next to the boat. I'd keep the mast together and in the sock. The sock has a red flag on it already for that purpose.

You may want to take the A-Frame off if there is any concern of overhead clearance.

Two people shouldn't have much trouble loading it on top, just be sure to tie it down very secure. That's a lot of windage.

We've done it with our customers so its not a big deal.
