I sold my Hobie 21SE quite a few years back. While I had it I had problems with extending the telescoping crossbars and found the composite "bearings" that wrap around the crossbar ends broken into pieces.

After a lot of searching Hobie actually found a dealer that had some and I bought them. Part# HC 3210001. They are held to the crossbars with aluminum rivets. Replacing them made a big improvement in how the boat telescoped in and out, along with greasing them regularly. Also stopped the movement in the crossbars while sailing.

While doing some basement cleaning I found a box with two kits of these bearings, two straps per kit, comes with pop rivets, and three loose straps. They would be hard to duplicate and I doubt Hobie, or anyone else, makes them.

LMK if you are interested.

BTW, sailing a Corsair F28 now and love it. But the Hobie 21SE still has a special place in our hearts. Wife and I loved that boat.

Sold these 6/21
