Is there a trick to get pebbles out of your dagger sleeves? I was up at lake Michigan last week and now i have sand and some pebbles stuck in my dagger sleeve which is keeping my dagger boards from sliding out of the sleeve. Thanks for the help! -Bill404 21se |

I think you just have to force the board down out of the well. You may be able to use a dowell and a mallet through the rope hole in the deck. Once the board drops, the pebbles would drop out. |

Once the board drops, the pebbles would drop out. That's the technique we use on the 17, which has the same type of centerboards. If I'm sailing off a beach w/pebbles, I carry an extra rudder pin with me for that express purpose. I use my folded up Leatherman tool as the "hammer". |

thanks for the advice, but I did exactly what you have recommended and still have the dagger board stuck in the sleeve................ I used a dead blow hammer to pound the dagger board down with a rudder pin and had no luck.Is there any other way?The dowel rod seems friendlier than the rudder pin but I worked with what I had available.Any other way to free it up?Thanks..........Bill 404 21se |

Maybe more force can be applied by pulling the board down somehow? Bent wire... feed a line up and over the board? |
