Post subject:  Trailer roller or Bunk board?

I just thinking of replacing my trailer rollers (on the inboard side of each hull) with bunk boards as in:

It seems as if they would work better during crosswinds/current. Anyone try this?

Thanks, Mike

What about instead of using carpet wrapped boards, you faced them with Starboard? The stuff is slicker than snot. You can't glue it, so you'd have to recess the holes and screw it.

You could also use the plastic deck wood at Lowes, which is cheaper, but not as slick.

Thanks for the idea. I'm thinking of trying the board/carpet first. It's cheaper in case I don't like the system and revert back to the rollers.
