Hey Guys. New Hobie 21 SC owner here. Trying to learn all I can about our 93 model cat. Was wondering what the big white and blue bungee cord is for that runs along both sides and across the middle beam underneath the rear tramp? Looks like a hand grab to me. Thanks, Marc.

It is your righting line for when you capsize. You may also have shroud extenders too.I use both when I flip my 21SE,but that has not happened in at least a decade. The impact of a capsize always break my wind vane mounted on top of my mast and I hate breaking that, but I always carry a spare in my tool box.

Hey Bill, is the short pieces of steel cable that parallel what I would call the shroud connect brackets (where it connects to the hull) the shroud extenders? If so, how is it used in the righting process? Thanks, Marc.
