Hull symmetry

A big tree landed on boat with wings in inverted/trailering position. It drove the port, stern wing support right out the side of the hull(outboard side). I'd like to make a simple mold to recreate the geometry of the destroyed hull section.
Would the inboard side of the starboard hull, more or less match, the outboard side of the port hull?

Holy moly! Man, I feel bad for you.

I don't think they're symmetrical that way, as when I look at mine head-on, the hulls are built canted starboard to port. Guessing to stay vertical when you fly a hull, or for stability (which this thing has in gobs!).

You didn't happen to keep the pieces of your hull you cut out, did you? It can actually be reassembled - no joke, if done right. Clean it up, wash, sand to get some bite, epoxy the pieces together (by removing just a little bit of foam between each puzzle piece to have a place for the epoxy to reside inside the sandwich), reinforce the backside of your now one-piece patch, glue backing across the hole, and epoxy the big piece back in as above. It works and would be WAY less work (got pics of doing this in a simple repair).

On the other hand, there may not be enough of a change in the curve of the hull to matter. Get a long curve gauge, like for woodworking and compare the two.

Yeah, I don't think that'll buff out, nor sand out, though I love that sanding block...

It copies curves really nicely and you lock in the curve using the knobs. That way you can compare the profiles exactly. Would LOVE to see the progress on this repair -

I did as someone on the board suggested and used the old pieces as a mold. I made a patch panel using the damaged section for a pattern. Installed some tabs on the inside of the hull to support the patch panel and then faired it in.
