Post subject:  i12s rudder problem

Hi
One month ago i got i12s
I never had it on the water yet and i found out that there is a problem with the rudder
As you see on the pics the padeye is holding the rudder and i cant deploy it
I have to place the rudder on the padeye by hand in order to work
In home it is easy but on the water i think it would be little hard to do it
Is there any way to fix it or did i get a hull with stern not glued the way it should be
Thank you

Is it the standard rudder or did you replace it with the larger version? (if that is the larger - its not the right one, there is one without the notch in the front for it to fit properly) the part# is 81397101

Should be a simple steer of the rudder away from the eye as you lower it. As the rudder lifts it should clear the eye no problem. Boat looks to be assembled correctly.

Jacques is correct... that is the wrong sailing rudder. Inflatables and the Quest require the older version # 81397101 as noted in the catalog.

You might be able to cut away some of the "bump" on this one to get it fully down.

The photo looked as though it would not go all the way down. If it does... and contacts the bottom of the rudder housing before touching the hull... no problem, you should be good-to-go.
