Hello to everybody out there,
I'm a new member here in this forum from Germany - Sorry for my bad english, but I try 'my very best'....
I was looking for a foldable kayak to take with us on our windsurfing trips when I saw an ad with the Mirage inflatable 5 weeks ago. That looked really great for me: not so narrow as a normal kayak and therefore perhaps nearly non-capsizable (in comparison) at open-sea conditions for untrained users and with the mirage drive day-long trips should be possible. Soon afterwards I've found this forum and til then I've read a lot of all your posts!!!!
Today I just had a 'testdrive' with an i14t at our local hobie dealer at cologne. Although it was just in a small indoor pool it was really fantastic and I'm hooked!
Now I'm going to have a look at my cash, give my wife some more hugs and then, hopefully....... I will let you know....

Could anybody please help me with the parts no. of the additional parts I want to buy and check whether they're correct (all parts for an i14t):
trax cart 80044001
i-series sail kit (wh/turq) - the i14t will be yellow - 790552203
st turbo fins 72066001
i-series large rudder 81397101
mirage drive bag (2x) 80024
Anything important that I might have missed?

Thanks a lot for all your help
Bye
Ralf

The cart should be 80045101 this is a specific cart for the i series boats and only available in the standard wheel.

Confirm that the drive is "V2" older inventory could have had the old sprockets.

tx for your information
As my dealer is also not so firm with all the additonal equipment, without your advise we really would have ordered the wrong cart.....

As I remember the drive, the part above the drum shaft looked like a straight triangle and so I think it must be a 'V2' (it looked equal to parts catalogue pg. 28) - as I have seen in the parts catalogue (pg. 29) at an older version of the drive this part seems to look more like a trianlge with a curve at the head. Besides, the kayak is a brand new 2009 one and so it should be equipped with a V2, or?

The kayaking collection catalogue says '8" Twist & Seal Hatch w/ Dry Bag'. Is there really an additonal dry bag in it? i didn't see one and the dealer also didn't mention one .....

Bye
Ralf

Yes... new 2009 model should be full V2 drive.

Yesterday my dealer told me that unfortunately he has forgotten to add the German VAT (19%) to the accessorie's prices - buahh, seems that I have to check my cash again....

There is another thing I'm worrying about and haven't found an answer with the 'search'-function:
On our holiday trips (sometimes up to 3 weeks) I would not like to deflate/inflate the kayak every day, therefore it would be exposed to UV radiation and sun heat nearly all days - do I have to worry 'bout the material? Should I store it upside down with the bottom up to the sun or with upper side up? Any precautions I should/can take?

Can anybody answer my question concerning the dry bag, please?

tx
Ralf

The Hobie dry bag should be in the package. Yellow. About 1 foot tall and maybe 8 inches diameter.

The materials should be very durrable. No problem.

Order yourself a spare hand pump. Mine lasted about 30 days or 6 inflations before falling apart.
