Post subject:  Setting up my new i14 for the first time..

I've just set up my new i14+sail for the first time, and have a few questions..

1. I assume the bungee on the back of the seats is to hold the seatback vertical.
Where does it hook on to (both front and rear seats) ?

2. What is the small plastic tool in the repair kit for?

3. Do the paddles (aluminium) float?

4. I ran the sail sheet thru the back eye and then thru the hole in the paddle clip.
Is there a cleat to attach it to while sailing, or are you expected to always hold it in your hand?

1 - Typically there would be an eye to hook this to. The aft seats usually hook to the cargo bungee.

2 - Tool is intended for valve removal or tightening. They don't seem to work with the valves as tight as they make them. If you need to replace the valve, we would supply a metal tool.

3 - Paddles float. They have foam plugs to make the shafts an air chamber.

4 - We don't cleat the kayak sail due to kayaks being pretty tippy... you want to hold the sheet.
