why? well, why not? actually, 3 of the locations that I fish often (and carry my boat and gear down to beach launch) have good to excellent crabbing much of the year, being able to drop a pot and get it after fishing could add a couple crabs to what I take home.

I often crab from my Oasis using a pair of 32" ProMar collapsing pots (with 2# of lead added to the bottom), the mesh lets most of the <5" crabs drop out on the way up, so these pots can be very heavy coming off the bottom but get lighter on the way up. :D

I decided the i11s deserved some 'armor' and this thin $20 SUV cargo mat worked perfect:

cut it to fit over the forward anchor points and mirage well, it protects the left side fully...

no issues "rolling" a loaded pot on from a kneeling position, plenty of room forward of the Mirage Drive for a 32" pot.

I just want to say, your videos are one of the reason why I decided to pick up a i11s. I saw a lot of Hobie fisherman in the harbor while out on my surf ski for years, more than 10 to be exact and even though I loved the pedal drive, I just didn't see the point of getting a heavy boat the outback or the PA etc as I don't fish. More of an exercise yakker. Nowadays we use my i11s as the mothership for transporting goods for our lake, ocean camping trips. So much space compare to other lightweight crafts.
