Post subject:  i11s steering problem

I purchased a new i11s last summer and I have the same steering cable problem reported by other i11s owners (handle becomes nearly impossible to turn). I have the Spectra cables, and I don't over-bend the steering cable or stack gear on top of it. I reported the issue to the dealer last summer, and dropped the Kayak off for warranty service. Although I pointed out that Hobie forum users reporting same issue had their steering cable replaced, dealer indicated that the "fix" was to lube the steering cable. Dealer also reported they didn't test the effectiveness of the repair on the ease of steering.

I trusted the dealer and the lauded Hobie customer support experience and didn't question their judgement to 1) not replace the cable and 2) not test the effectiveness of the repair. My i11s STILL has the steering cable problem and now I'm really ticked off that it wasn't replaced and I have to start the process over again. My wife and kids can't use the Kayak at this point, and I can barely force the handle to turn past the 12'oclock position.

The serial number from the Mirage drive is 274904.

Frustrated with Hobie at this point :(

Had the same problem and was finally fixed by Hobie ( took weeks )

I could test it last week in the baltic sea - all good now and works very smooth
