I'm shortly to collect my i11s ready for spring summer.

Would be interested to know the sort of distances people have achieved or think are feasible.

With thanks,

Frank (UK)

I dunno, if you do a search here for "knots" I think you find hardshell mirage kayaks achieving 6kts. So maybe my blimpy kayak goes 5kts. I think i11s board hull is less efficient, so maybe 4kts? Knock off a few percent for waves and you approximate a walking pace - how far can you walk in a day. Pretty far with a bit of conditioning and no traffic lights to delay you.

We have a tandem oasis. On a very relaxed day out we will average around 2.5 knots, 4.5 km/hr. On a day out when not sightseeing (but neither trying to break any records) we average around 3.25 knots, 6 km/hr. Extrapolate from that as you will.
