Does anyone know if the plugs that hold the bungie to secure the paddle on a compass are dry sockets? Also how hard is it to remove the piece, is it glued in or does it screw out? I am looking for a spot to mount something on the side of the compass and don't want to drill a hole. So my last question is if I remove the plug does Hobie or anyone else sell a plug that would go into that socket that might have more than a hole in it, for example a loop of some type?

It is a threaded dry socket. It's screwed in using a special jig and may not be that easy to remove. Your local dealer may have the bit. We also sell a hand tool for removing and installing the fittings. Hobie sells other deck fasteners that will thread into the same hole. There are two padeye options with a loop.

The different fasteners are on page 65 of the parts and accessories brochure: https://media.hobie.com/digital_assets/ ... t_2020.pdf
