Off hwy 395 on the June Lake Loop:
June Lake has plenty of good camping, beach launch below the campgrounds, and a small marina at the west end of the lake. Prettiest area is skirting the shoreline along the north side.
Silver Lake has smaller campground, but nice dock to launch from (boat ramp). At the far east end of the lake, you'll find a small steam that feeds the lake. This stream is navigable by Mirage Drive (but not by paddling due to narrow and overgrown areas). It is possible to get almost to the highway bridge near the general store. This pic shows Jeanne in one of the "wider" areas of the channel. Be sure to keep a little speed up when you come back downstream, or you'll get turned sideways in the brush and have a fight on your hands!
