Post subject:  best way to manage furling line from back seat

When sailing solo from the back seat I sometimes have issues getting the furling line to cleat in all the way up front. Are there any good solutions to move this back and not have issues with the line not spooling up on the drum correctly?

Thanks

I have read in a past thread that if you add a small Hobie 'add on' under the cleat. This changes the angle of the cleat to make it easy for 'back seat driving'. Sorry I can not give you any further info, I did order 1 with My new TI, however my local dealer talked me out of it at the start (until I got used to the TI), and I have never gone back!

It's not a Hobie part (so I'm told by my Hobie Dealer), but a Harken Part.

See this thread for more info and the Harken part number - viewtopic.php?f=69&t=27537&hilit=wedge

In addition, try tying the ends of the furling line and the main sheet line (If not already). It makes it easy to grab the furling line from the back seat.

I took my wife out and she noticed that I was a little wet (like I just got out the shower); I have never got her in the front :!:

Buy her a lovely spray jacket for her birthday.... :D
And some gloves so she doesn't get frost bite or rope burn. Shows you care
