Hi,

I recently added a masthead light so I could sail at night and wanted to share the results.

I very carefully drilled and threaded a hole in the masthead. Cut the head off a bolt so I had a SS threaded rod, double nutted to prevent the rod from backing out, and screwed on the light. It's an LED version of the standard battery powered light available at marine supply stores. I can't turn it on or off without unstepping the mast so if I might be out late I turn it on before heading out. There's also a short tether if something goes wrong.

Cheers,

J

Super cool J. 8)

Now you have it rigged to accept a baby-bob mast float and wind vane too! Keep tweaking.

Hope you will review your PA Jib for us sometime.

I would love to use my PA jib sometime, only had it out once and it was nice. Since then, it's either been dark, nasty weather, or I've been solo.
