I forget which is which, the akas or the amas, but I took mine to the local Linex guy and he coated the 4 pieces for $15 apiece($60). That included taking off all the little hardware and masking the ends. I can't tell the added weight at all and now they seem to be pretty much bullet proof in regards to paint flaking away. I would like to coat the cross bars as well but that's too much work.
