Post subject:  TI swivel cleat mod

Just got back from wetting the ti's head. There will be some video up tomorrow.

In the meantime some things need to be sorted. One being swapping the front sheet cleat for a swivel version. I dropped into a chandlery on the way back but all the harken models seem to bases with three holes.

There are some spinlock models that look good.

What experience is out there before I make a mistake.

Also as we have left the boat there what diameter are the main sheet lines?

I'm pretty sure they're quarter inch. I bought some 5/16th as replacement and it's definitely larger than the original.

Chopcat,

I have been using a Ronstan RF67 swivel cleat for the past 12 months. It has 3 bolt holes, but I have just been using 2 holes that just happen to align with the existing Harken cleat holes in the crossbar!

I regularly sail in good breezes (ie. 15kts +) and the two bolt attachment is holding up very well.

I just replaced my TI mainsheet with a 6mm line. Works well.
