Remember that the roller furling jib does not work for someone who fishes for larger fish like we do offshore. The furled jib stay will interfere with you bringing your rod around the front of the boat. On the other hand, a jib that furls into the main does not need a forestay so there is no interference.

That is a good point that I hadn't thought of. I haven't fished off the TI, yet, but it's probably just a matter of time until I do.

Greg, thanks for the comprehensive answers to my questions. You have clearly thought this through! :)

Thank you Tony. To be more clear about the jib cut. The radial cut tends to maintain it's shape no matter how poorly you tension the lines & sheets, so for the less experienced sailor or a rigging that doesn't offer the full compliment of lines, it is ideal (my setup). A crosscut jib allows the sailor more control to alter the point of maximum effort by fine tuning the lines and forces on the sail. The crosscut jib is better suited for highly experienced sailor and racing. Downside of the crosscut is that the forces on the jib are not distributed in a way that is easy on the jib. Life is shorter. The miter cut jib is kind of a compromise in between.

Outstanding job on this video and all your mods. I like your back up steering system, seems to me you could use that when you're hiking out on the tramps since the 90° rotation of the tiller handle makes using a tiller extension more awkward when you're hiking out.

I'm also interested in knowing if this jib would work motor sailing ala fusion engineer.
