Hi all,

I'm a 2015 TI owner loving its incredible reliability—in 3 years of sailing, my only repairs have been the nylon ama brace shear pins (of course)—but my luck finally came to an end: last weekend the rudder downhaul line broke. Oh well, something had to happen sooner or later.

Before I repair it directly, I'm wondering if anyone has devised any kind of external replacement for the up/downhaul lines? I've seen tons of posts for external replacements/backups for the steering lines, but I couldn't find any discussions of doing the same thing for the up/downhauls. Having direct lines to the rudder up/down pulley seems like a good idea, since keeping the rudder firmly seated in the down position is crucial to its effectiveness.

Apologies in advance if this is a noob question and/or has been covered elsewhere...RTFM's or pointers to other threads are entirely welcome!

Scott
