I’ve recently purchased a 2017 TI and already starting to look into adding a jib to hopefully help with upwind beating. I understand that many have switched to the Hobie spinnaker but I want to keep it simple so I’m thinking about the Roger Mann style self tacking furling jib - one simple sheet plus a halyard if it needs to be removed.

He used the Hobie 14 jib on his AI. Is that appropriate size for the TI. Is there another Hobie jib I should use? If not what dimensions : leech luff & foot are recommended?

I’ve read some of this thread but was hoping someone could distill 500 posts. Guess I just need to grab a few beers and wade through it.

This subject has always been "hot", with many ideas and solutions.
I think u should "surf" on all those messages and then you will decide which is the way u prefer. a very small jib or a bigger genoa? no halyard? how to build the mast topper? self taking or very simple manual taking?
pls let us know which way u will prefer and show us your jib when u will have one
