Finally got out in my AI conversion. Thanks to all who helped me with advice. While playing around I discovered...Instant "Barber Pole". Doesn't require any additional bungie, or whatever. It's built into the yaku. Just slip the main sheet over the cross member holder. Caution. This was in a light wind. Had previous done this with Sidekick slipping sheet under the yaku tips. CONGRATS! on finally getting ALL the parts! You should post (in between sailing) your thoughts on the conversion, and any new AI changes. In your picture, I see a new paddle holder, and it looks like a bolt connecting the aka to the cross brace instead of a pin. Happy sailing! Kayaking Bob |

Aloha Bob Yeah it's a relief. Your right on the bolt. See the other thread on the kit. The rear paddle holder is probably a part you can order. Just requires a slightly longer bolt. The front blade holder is just cloth covered bungie with the ends folded under and screwed in along with a washer. Maybe you can order that too. Thanks for all your coaching!! |
