Hey Yak! I just got my first boat up in this area. a 21sc Catamaran. But what really drew me to this topic is that i have always wanted to make that crossing! I was thinking about doing it in a sea kayak at the time a few years back but now with the 21SC theoretically it is a lot more boat! I will be honest, you're description of the seas in the middle of the bay are a bit demotivating. I wish it could be a nice trip like in the video you posted. But currently my playing grounds have been either in the intercoastal in Daytona FL. Or now that i'm up in Jersey the great egg harbor bay. I still lust for more of an adventure than crossing the bay six times in a day out with friends. i want to be able to go somewhere. But the big water doesn't sound very forgiving to small boats. |
