David, thanks for the pics - great memento of the trip. Love the shot of ELMO fascinated by the great coat hanger.

If you look at the pics on this blog posted Sunday 18 April, I wonder if these were some of the sea kayakers that we saw on our way to Shelly Beach? They obviously left very early looking at the silhouette of South Head but the last pic with the sailing ship in the background looks to be about the right time of day for us.

I also think I saw one of those ropes on the cliff face.

Thanks guys for a great days sailing. I will sort out my pictures over the next couple of days and look at posting them when I get better internet service.

Was one of the best trips I've done. :D

Now you need to start a new thread titled - "Where's Elmo"

Trip Proposal for Monday 26 April - Lion Island and Lower Hawksbury

Meeting Point: boat ramp opposite Illuka Park, Palm Beach at 08:30 (free parking under trees).

Float Plan: Launch at Woorak Rd boat ramp and sail north via The Basin and Lion Island to Refuge Bay for lunch. Sail back via Lion Island and Barrenjoey head. Variations based on wind and waves.

Who is coming?

Really enjoying your posts and pics - Sydney was my old stomping ground till I moved up near Port Macquarie some 5 years ago.

Used to do the twilight harbour keel boat races myself sometimes, but never owned a yak. Waiting very [im]patiently for my TI to arrive. :)

Fantastic. Do you have a VHF radio or UHF CB - We could use radio comms on the water to assist rendezvous? I'll phone you to coordinate launch times.

Looking like I can make it so far. Weather looks ok at this stage.
I've got a UHF CB. That will make things easier for yak-yak comms.

:( That's a shame. Would have been good to catch up again.

We got any more takers?

Happened to be near Palm Beach this morning so thought I'd check out the location. Looks like a pretty good spot. Heaps of parking under the trees, good lane down to the ramp and beach. Here's some pics.
