I was down there a few weeks ago near OIB. Did a lot of sailing under the bridge area, and one day braved the Shallote inlet into the ocean and beached it near the pier, then surfed back in the inlet to come back to our canal house. That was very scary stuff! Not sure I'd do that again unless seas were very calm. Next time I'm coming down that way I'll give you a shout. Edit: and by the way I was planning on doing the WaterTribe event but I just have too much going on to prepare. Maybe next year. |

Most of my sailing in Topsail Sound and Topsail inlet area. Would not mind trying the OIB area. |
