Got our Tandem Island last Friday and have taken out every day since then. Getting the hang of sailing solo and with my wife. Really enjoying it. So far we've only taken out in the bay (Alamitos Bay, Long Beach, Ca.) After I feel confident we'll take it out in the ocean behind the breakwater where the winds are stronger and more consistant. Here's a video from todays excursion.

Very nice! Question and a tip: why only one tramp deployed? And be sure your sheet line is not twisted - you will be much happier if you have to haul close to the wind. :)

Nice video!

it looks ideal for sailing: Quite a wind and calm water. The area around looks great! good luck on open water

You know tjcouch it does look twisted and my wife was really having a hard time pulling the sail tight. I thought she wasn't strong enough but looking at the video it is twisted. I'll remember to check that each time before we go out. Always appreciate any tips. I read about everything on this Island forum while waiting for my TI and learned a lot. I had just one tramp out because I launched it by myself and sailed around for about an hour before my wife walked over to join me. It's a lot easier to slide into that front seat without one tramp and I wanted to try the front seat solo since I'd only sailed solo from the back seat so far. And I could hang my feet in the water! Here's one other video from yesterday. Kinda of the same but I went over on the tramp for a little with the camera. (Got a little condensation in my GoPro casing.)
