Hi Keith, I have just bought my second TI. The new seats won us over. It is the easiest sailboat I have ever sailed. When I carry a front passenger they add useful ballast on the tramps and extra peddle power. I regularly sail it alone on rivers and off-shore. The boat is much more nimble without a front passenger. It is faster and more agile. What I have learned is to not have tramps deployed deployed when sailing alone, the windward tramp lifts the boat which is unhelpful when you are running along a beach behind the break with an onshore breeze. The TI is not big, it is not much longer than the new AI and the length adds stability and boat speed.

Coming from the other Hobie beach cats, the TI is much easier to move around off the water and easier to move around aboard on the water. More practical to get someplace specific with the pedals, lower top speed.

It sure is long, though.
