Talkin about car topping.... We have always car topped our TI’s quite a bit. One thing we do is pull the rudder pin out and lay the rudder on top of the hull for car topping. We also use an old welcome door mat for the stern when loading. Works great for us. FE |

Agree car topping needs to be considered. I car topped my AI but not my TI.... There are many creative options for car topping the bigger kayaks like the AI and TI. |

Obviously running a TI from a trailer makes life way easier. And we typically kept our on the trailer in our garage all setup and basically ready to launch when in Florida, (just put the mast in and swing the AMA’s out). All our boats were heavily modified and hardened for offshore with extra sails and outboards. However we travel a lot around the country with our camper, since the camper uses the trailer hitch when traveling we have to cartop the boat, ( the only place to put it). There is no other car toppable offshore capable performance boat in existance that can haul 4 people that I know of. We typically stay at any place at least a week or two. We would typically arrive at the campground, disconnect the camper and set that up, then pull the boat down and setup, (takes about an hour), the setup on the trailer, (we designed a two piece trailer that breaks down and fits in the back of our truck). Once setup we go out every day adventuring, sometimes fully rigged on big water, but more often than not on small water we just used the kayak part, leaving all the extras back at the campground. Of course we tried to get waterside campsites where we could so we could just leave the boat waterside for the week. We ended up owning 3 TI’s over the years, (all setup similar).
