Hello,

I would like to spend a few days at Mission Bay, San Diego. It would be just my truck, my trailer loaded with the AI, and a few days to unplug. I sleep inside the truck, so not even a tent is needed.

Do you know of a campground that:
* Gives me enough space for the truck and the trailer
* Allows me to get a spot close enough to the water to move the boat back and forth for the evening (or even better, give me a safe place to leave it overnight)
* Ideally, has a ramp (not critical).

I am planing to go after the beginning of low season (mid-September), and stay over four or five days.

What would you recommend?

Thanks
Carlos

thanks, domr, they came up in my search but with mixed reviews (noisy, crowded, etc.). But I guess there is no other option. I was hoping for a "secret spot" from a san diegan :D Cheers

Thanks, domr!

Do you have a favorite place around SD if camping is taken out of the equation? I leave in Orange County, so it wouldn't be too bad for an early trip and stay just for the day. Then I can decide if I want to go to a hotel for the night and come back next day.

Also, the Google map with launching locations accessible from the Hobie forum has over ten places in Mission Bay, but only a few in SD Bay. Are both places comparable?

My intent is spending a few days sailing, but camping by the water may not be the most feasible alternative...
