aloha to all. the fishing on the north shore of oahu has been great. we use the AI to get out between 1-3 miles. the best fishing is when its rough. it brings the mahi and ono to the surface. we usually go out when it 15-20 knot winds and 3-5 foot wind waves. we troll down wind along a series of crab pot bouys. they are holding fish. we have caught lots of mahi between the 15 and 25 pound range. we have also caught some nice ono between 17 and 40 pounds. its been a lot of fun and really opened the doors for us in the deep sea arena. we have pictures posted on our web site at www.coastalkayaktours.com. they feature some of the fish we have caught. aloha tight lines and screamin reels.
