Has anyone tried to fabricate "lifting strakes" on the front of the ama's to give the ama's a little extra lift as your speed under sail increases. They would be similar to the "winglets" some owner's have fabricated on the rudder tips, except longer. |

I've wondered the same thing. And while were at it----has anyone tried adding an inch and a half keel the lenth of the ama for better pointing???? |

Lift always comes with a cost in drag. I doubt strakes would improve performance. Canted daggerboards in each ama would probably increase pointing ability, but who wants to mess with them when we have a Mirage drive for going upwind? |
