To all Hobie AI owners in SEQld (Australia), Lake Samsonvale Water Sports Assoc are hosting an invitational day on the 2nd Nov. Here is the chance to try racing against other Hobie AIs in your own class or just enjoy a pleasure sail on the lake. For more information see:

http://www.lswsa.org.au/hobie.htm

Hope to hear from some other AI owners wanting to test their sailing skills.

It would be fun to put a stroke counter on the Mirage Drives and allow only a certain small number of strokes per mile of race course. Enough to be useful, not enough to dominate the race by sheer pedal power. Strokes beyond that number could carry a heavy time penalty. It would still be a sailing race, but you could power through a tack or dash ahead of a boat on starboard tack if you had the strokes to spare. How and when to use your MD strokes would be an important part of racing strategy

Your ideas are all valid, probably just need a consensus from all.

For our planned AI meet i expect everyone to sail without the mirage drive - it is just like any other multihull, you have to plan your tacks a bit more and occasionally you will get caught in irons, but that just makes for improvement next time.

But i could see a fun time with the mirage drives in, too...

Happy Sailing!!
