Pretty easy for DIY.
There is a tool available from Hobie #71115101

The cleat can be removed with pliers, cover with a cloth if you want not to damage it for reuse in the future. Turn CCW to remove.

Installing the eye (#71116001) is easier, I just used a long shaft screwdriver through the eye, turn CW.

As Bob said they are easy to change. Needle nose pliers work well if you don't have the proper tool. Also checkout Roadrunners useful 'fun with fittings' post here:

If you want a padeye instead of a cleat and you don't use the padeye's on the ama just swap them.
I do use the cleat for bungeeing the drive down when I am paddling in Adventure mode or sailing with the drive out when conditions are suitable.

They are also easy to modify. Here I have tapped a 6mm thread (remove the fitting first :wink: ) for a fitting an eyebolt:
