yeah...that top one is my favourite...it's josh 'yakass' holmes heading out for a days fishing when we spent a week camping on fraser island good to hear i sound young at least.... |

Oh great. Not only does Josh take great video and catch big fish, he also takes competition winning photos.  That first one is sceensaver material. |

Now that is life changing. Again that 1st shot would go straight to the pool room. I can't wait until the next whale migration. So was this an unprepared encounter Josh or did you manouver yourself into position and hope for the best ? And was there any fear or did you feel at ease ? |

Actually it showed up as I was paddling along, so I just stopped, pulled out the camera and watched. It popped up beside me after last sighting it about 10 metres away, and it scared the jeebies out of me. Caught the event on vid to - enjoy (watch to the end to see the sequence of stills I got): [youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJWbcA-wabw[/youtube] I'm looking forward to the next migration run, but trust me, I won;t be getting quite this close again if I can help it

Yep, I sure do... but not just for the safety aspect. Also to prevent from being sharked, which almost happened yesterday. Had 3 shark sightings yesterday, all close to the kayak. Shield went on after the 3rd and I almost lost a fish

Suggested by Chris that I submit this pic of Det cruising the ocean swell off Lion Island, Broken Bay NSW Australia. Waves never look big in a photograph unfortunately
