Hobie Sail Kits

Can someone please let me know the difference between the 'i series' of the Sail Kit, compared to the Sail Kits that are non i series of Kits. (The i stands for the Inflatable kayaks, I believe)
The i series is $20 more expensive than the other. Are there any structural differences between the two Sail Kit?

Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

Btw: Does anyone have a Sail Kit that they no longer need and would like to sell? (the white and Turquoise color scheme is needed to match the Dune AI)

I believe the i series sail has a 3 piece mast and stays for use on the inflatables. Search the inflatable forum or Roadrunners reviews for more info

Yah I saw the 'Option' page for the i Sail Kit and it did mention a 3 part mast.

Hmm not sure which of the two masts would be stronger:a 2 part or a 3 part.

Ideally a 1 piece carbon fiber mast would be perfect. Usually joints are the weak part of any mast. Yet with a 3 part mast, the mast is doubled in thickness. times three over the length and may spread the unstayed load better.
You mentioned stayed. That is what I'm trying to avoid if part 2 of this project will ever work: Mounting a Micro Gennaker.
It makes sense on a 'Rubber Duck' you would need light rigging due to boat structural movement.

A friend also suggested I look around for Windsurfer masts and sails. as this sport seems to have gotten lost in Kite-boarding heaven.

I'd say you answered your own question.

The 3 or is it now... 4 piece mast allows the sail rig to be stowed in the i-series travel bag.
