Matt what is the difference in v1 and v2 Aka's I am waiting on my conversion kit and I did not realize it came with different ones the on my other AI? Better or worse why different one than one on a factory island?

Thanks
Butch

We only do V1 for Island conversions. V2 is only available on new Islands.

V1 vs V2 is the aka connection point at the crossbar. V1 uses a hinge pin. V2 uses a casting (permanently pinned to the aka) that inserts into the crossbar. V1 is a stiffer connection. V2 is easier to assemble / dis-assemble.

Thanks Matt I appreciate the reply is the v1 as strong as the v2 and why not put the v2 on the conversion kit? I don't care I already bought the kit just curious.

Thanks for all the help.

The V1 connection seems stiffer. Not sure either is stronger than the other. Part of the issue is remaining stock of V1 parts after the transition to V2 in boat production. We commonly offer only the newest stuff in boat production.

I prefer the V1 aka, many prefer the V2, both work well. Both have had issues that some have experienced, but each issue has solutions, all posted here on the forums.
