I love the way the seats go in and come out very easy and fast. Also like that they have legs for using at the shore.

I do have one question.

Why are these 2 brass threaded inserts located in the seat pans at the base of the kick stand ledge?

Were they once for clips to hold the seat base down, but minds were changed because it interfered with raising the rearward seat base?

I guess I could use them to anchor some webbing and some clips or even a cable lock to add more security for the chair staying with the boat.

I could well be wrong!, but I thought that the rear seat legs sat on those points?. I'm sure that they do on my 2015 Outback anyway, I assumed that had been used to create strengthened areas.

That is the bottom end of an "L" shaped insert used to gather more material in the area during molding. Added strength in the area for the seat feet to rest on. The exposed threaded brass is the contact point in the mold and how we hold it in the mold during the process. We considered putting a screw in the hole, but it interferes with the seat function.
