Post subject:  A drier tankwell
The AI rides very low in the water, plus the tops of the scuppers in the seat bucket are already below the waterline, and the ones in the rear tankwell are darn close. Couple the nature of the AI to ride up on side depending on wind and direction and it's a very wet boat inside.

I'm working on something for the seat, but in the meantime I'd like to keep my stuff in the tankwell a little drier if possible (yes, most of it is in a drybag). I'm thinking there should be some type of foam or plastic mesh that could be used to effectively raise the tankwell bottom a half inch to an inch, but still allow drainage to and from the suppers. Any ideas?

I seem to recall a product named "dry deck" and water should be able to move freely under the deck due to the troughs in the tankwell bottom. But I don't like the weight of the hard plastic.

How about those EVA mesh panels they use for temporary floors in tents - available from camping goods stores.

West Marine, etc, sells this rubber flooring for the cabins of boats. But if you're having a good time, I don't think it will keep anything "DRY" back there.

Last time we were out on the TI3, my airlock sealed lunchbox was high on the stern - and it filled with water! :cry:

Anyway, a dry lunch is nice, but the main thing is to have a good time.
