I will certainly tweak my splash guard design.

What you need is a way to deploy the splash guard when sailing upwind and take it down when running with the wind and submarining the boat. A roller furling splash guard :!:

Maybe incorporate a large wave deflector on the bow that minimizes the chance of putting the splash guard underwater.

I thought of a more "V" shaped splash guard rather than one that extends flat from the hull. Of course that might funnel water into the cockpit trading one problem for another.

I'm sure the devious mind of CaptnChaos will figure it out.

Speaking of water temperature, here in Forster, Australia, air and sea temperatures are about the same at 17 degrees celcius. A bit cool to swim in comfortably, but not so cold as to ruin your world
62º? :o Brrrrr!

My naughty bits would not like that for long. They prefer a nice refreshing 78º.

It's already under construction yak. Completely different design too. With the new and improved anti-flip formula.

Technically you might even be able to blame Robots for the capsize. They are the reason I couldn't bring my beloved hakas on the trip north. My truck was completely jammed with all our luggage, the AI plus a fully functional life size 1965 Lost in Space B9 Robot I built and was delivering to Indiana.

Jim,
Glad you the boy and the AI are ok. Didn't we have this conversation about adult supervision before? Let me know when your back and I'll chase you around again.

My wife might agree that I need supervision Larry. Went out yesterday with the new jib setup and everything possible that could go wrong did. Glad you weren't there with your camera  It's back to the drawing board on every front. If there's good wind this weekend I'm up for it. Give me a shout.

Jim, Remember

I was actually in Thomas Edison's Workshop for a few hours last week in Michigan @ Henry Ford's Greenfield Village. Henry Ford and Thomas Edison are quite inspirational.
